I got kind of sidetracked onto this painting. In her prebreened state she looked incredibly regal, so I decided to amplify this quality using the most noble creature on earth, the honeybee! Queen beeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I love very strong women and this is a bee who is adored by her workers. yet she's under attack by an ineffectual beekeeper who is trying to slow her down with that smoke gun. She is muscular and compact and has one hell of a stinger! Watch out bee-keeper! below are the before and afters:

Whew, not another breen already! This is just a 5"X7" breen which was really hard to paint because it is so little. It doesn't have my usual attention to detail and photorealistic technique - but we can't all be Chuck Close now can we?!

I made a realplayer and quicktime movies of flamebass wriggling and singing.
My next prebreen is on deck,
but after spending the past couple of days learning all this movie software my brain is quite numb. Someone help me out here - I must admit, I can't think of what to do with this woman. I think I've done enough nuns lately. Dammmnnnniiitt brain, earn your keep, or i'll have to abuse you!
