I've just added a new gallery wing!
These are paintings I've done over the past 4 or 5 months.

Last week I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping at a local bookstore when I came across a book with all the paintings and numerous drawings by Bosch. One of the drawings was of turtle with a skull-like carapace. The death turtle is a ridiculous monster, yet very creepy at the same time. You don't really have to run from it because it would be too slow to catch you. But you could never stay in one place for long!
I was thinking about this turtle when we had all the relatives up for Christmas dinner - Prime Rib! - at the breenhouse yesterday. Mrs. Breen's father, 80+, was talking about his friends who seem to be falling dead around him at an alarming rate! He was like a man on the run, not scared exactly, but definitely feeling the pursuers closing in. It was distressing to see. I imagined him walking quickly away from the turtle - but then I saw a cheetah kind of hanging out, waiting for hunger to set in before...
I looked down at the meat on my plate and then up at my father-in-law. "Could you pass the gravy?" I asked. Didn't think the monster turtle or
grim reaper Cheetah would make pleasant dinner conversation.
Makes for great breenage though!
