I'm really afraid of going in the water whenever I see a jellyfish. I've never actually been stung by one, but the sight of a floating glob causes me to panic and rush from the water - much more effective than the dorsal fin of a shark. I guess it stems from a trip to Nova Scotia where the locals pointed out the vast quantities of jellyfish brought up on the gulf stream, noting that the sting feels like a horse kicked you in the testicles - I'm not sure what the female comparison would be.

When I first saw this portrait, I noted her hair looked like a jellyfish, so I immediately felt a little panicky about her. I turned her do into a Portuguese man o' war. She looks kind of tough, like the jellyfish aids her in keeping people at arms length, and consuming those who come in too close. But I also put in a goldfish (covered with embracing couples) who is trying to sweet talk her with a heart tongue covered with mouths. Also note the angel-fish of death in the lower left hand corner.
