This is based on an older painting I did which I reworked. Text says, 'Elle paid a disconcerting visit to John in the hospital while flame people brought chocolates!' I turned Ellie into an alien and put in a couple of flame people holding melting chocolates. I also gave this alien very large pores, as most alien imagery incorrectly portrays them with smooth skin. I was going to use this for my upcoming billboard on route 1, but I couldn't get a satisfactory hi-rez image in time, so I'm using the sea-monkey instead.

When I see a stern woman, it's hard for me NOT to paint a nun. Who am I kidding, it's always hard for me to keep from turning any painting into a teeming, crowded, nun city!

I had this face and wasn't sure exactly what to do with it. I knew, though, that I wanted it to be very wrinkly and blockheaded. The apemouth was an afterthought. Then when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to say textwise, the Sept.11 thing happened.
